There’s a question I’ve been sitting with ever since I came home from Crete.
A simple question.
But one that has quietly challenged almost everything I thought I knew but I like the Vibe around it
It wasn't my question.
I first heard it from Kathleen Cameron.
And it was simply this:
At first it sounded almost too simple.
But the more I sat with it...
the more I realised just how many invisible rules I we have been living by without ever questioning where they came from.
Who says...
...you should only take one week's holiday?
According to who?
Who says wanting to become wealthy means you're greedy?
According to who?
Who says you should be grateful for "enough" but not desire abundance?
According to who?
Who says success has to come through stress and sacrifice?
According to who?
Who decided working until you're exhausted is something to admire?
According to who?
Recently I overheard several conversations about money.
People saying...
"I don't want to be rich."
"As long as we've got enough."
"Money doesn't matter."
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling that way if it is genuinely your truth.
But it made me stop and ask myself...
Is it their truth?
Or is it something they've inherited?
A belief passed from one generation to the next.
Never questioned.
Simply accepted.
As I have mentioned recently
Growing up, I watched my Mum trying to make ends meet.
She wasn't teaching me limitation.
She was surviving.
My Dad worries constantly about money (even at 94)
Again...
he wasn't trying to pass fear on.
He was and is doing his best with all he knows
But children don't just hear words.
We absorb energy.
We absorb patterns.
We absorb what seems normal.
And many of us spend decades living inside beliefs we never consciously chose.
For years I believed I wanted financial freedom.
Now I realise...
what I really wanted was choice.
The choice to spend six weeks in Crete instead of one.
The choice to tell my partner ..
"Don't take on any more work, Babe. I've rented us a villa. Your Mum and Dad can come if they want. The kids can come too."
Not because I need to prove anything.
Because I can.
Because freedom, for me, ...
It's about possibility.
Recently I heard Regan Hillyer say something that stopped me in my tracks.
I wrote that in my journal because it completely expressed perfectly what I was working towards but not able to articulate so succinctly
True freedom isn't measured by how much content I create (unlike others believe and will have us believe)
It's measured by how much of my life is still available while the work I've already created continues to serve people.
That changes everything.
I think so many women are waiting.
Waiting until they've earned enough.
Waiting until someone tells them they're allowed.
Waiting until they feel ready.
But...
According to who?
Who decided you need permission?
Who decided wanting more somehow makes you less grateful?
Who decided abundance and spirituality couldn't exist together?.
Maybe the real work isn't learning another strategy.
Maybe the real work is noticing the invisible rules you've been living by.
And deciding whether they're still yours.
If you find yourself thinking something that stop's you doing something you want to do.
Thinking I shouldn't do that, think that. Go there, buy that maybe ask yourself "According to Who"
And then stop and dig a little deeper. Look a little deeper to see where that thought is come from.
Is it yours or something or somebody else's
And does it hold any validity.
The moment you question a belief...
You create space.
The moment you create space...
You create choice.
And perhaps...
Freedom begins the moment we stop asking for permission... and start giving it to ourselves.
Because who says this is real or we can't "According to Who?"
Conversations like this are becoming the heartbeat of everything I'm building.
Not just Aligned & Free.
Not just what I'm building next
But something even deeper.
A different way of thinking about freedom, wealth and the life we're truly here to create.
